Three years ago Apple Computer employees began moving into a new $5 billion campus called Apple Park located in Cupertino, CA. This state-of-the-art facility envisioned by company co-founder Steve Jobs and completed years after his death resembles a recently landed spaceship and is the most expensive building project in America. Yesterday Apple asked its 12,000 employees who work at the Silicon Valley office park to stay at home and telecommute to the office if they could. Santa Clara County has 20+ confirmed cases of the coronavirus and is asking large technology companies to keep employees out of the office as a precaution.

Facebook has 14,000 workers in San Francisco who have been asked to work from home and cancel all business travel in the near future. All 5,000 Twitter employees world wide will work from home for the foreseeable future with no return date declared.

All U.S. tech companies are recalculating their 2020 financial projections as they consider the infection in China and how that will impact supply chains and global trade.
