Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife, and mother of Donald, Jr, Ivanka, and Eric, died at her home in New York at the age of 73 on Thursday.
Former President posted her passing on his Truth Social platform.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana,” former President Trump wrote.
Her son, Eric Trump, also posted on Truth Social.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren,” he wrote, including a photo of himself, Ivanka and Donald Jr. as children with their parents.
Ivana Trump married Donald Trump in 1977, and they divorced in 1992. She was born in Czechoslovakia in 1949. She was a world class skier. She met Donald Trump, in New York City in 1976, where she was working as a model.
After marriage, she was the CEO and president of the Atlantic City, NJ casino Trump’s Castle in the 80, was the interior designer and manager of the Plaza Hotel, and served as a Vice-President of the Trump Organization. After the Trumps’ contentious divorce, she developed her own clothing and beauty products lines.
Ivana Trump marred twice after Donald Trump. First to Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli in 1995, whom she divorced two years later.
In 2008, she married Rossano Rubicondi, an Italian model and actor, who was more than 20 years younger. Their marriage divorced in 2009, and later reunited, and officially ended their relationship in 2019. Rubiconci died in 2021 from melanoma complications.
