New exculpatory evidence (also known as "Brady evidence") was released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to Sidney Powell, retired Army Lieutenant General and former Trump Senior Advisor Michael Flynn's new attorney.

Powell is said to have been waiting for these documents for a long time - with conviction that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has intentionally withheld these documents. The documents as of Friday are under seal; that is permission was given by the court to keep the documents from being released to the public.

"Any reasonable attorney familiar with the allegations against Mr. Flynn would recognize that this evidence contradicts and undermines the prosecutors’ ‘theories’ of any wrongdoing,” Powell said to Judge Sullivan, a judge in the District of Colombia lower federal court circuit.

Flynn was forced to resign as Trump's National Security Advisor on Feb. 13, 2017 after stating to the FBI he had phone calls with then Russian Ambassador Kislyak, but had not disclosed they discussed foreign policy in regards to the Trump administration. The Mueller investigation later found through monitoring of the calls conducted using standard foreign intelligence practice that Flynn allegedly had discussed such issues.

The Special Counsel's conclusion, released in March of 2019, stated that ties or links had been found between the Trump campaign and Russian officials but that no criminal wrongdoing or coordination with Russian operatives to influence the election had been identified. As more and more evidence comes out that the Mueller investigation was an unlawful effort to remove Trump, its conclusions are in doubt.

In Flynn’s case it appears that an over aggressive member of Mueller’s team conducted his interview of General Michael Flynn under a false pretense and, in the process, laid a trap for Flynn that violated the Supreme Court ruling, reported Conservative Post.

Investigative reporter Sara Carter has learned that Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe essentially laid a trap for Flynn when he lied to him about reasons for a meeting that Flynn was going to give to FBI agent Peter Strzok at the White House.

" 'Any reasonable attorney familiar with the allegations against Mr. Flynn would recognize that this evidence contradicts and undermines the prosecutors’ ‘theories’ of any wrongdoing,”'she [Powell] said. 'The production of August 16, 2019, also proves that the government has long had this information in its possession.' "
