Biden And Harris Refers To Their Ticket As The ‘Harris-Biden’ Administration

The Internet has been buzzing for weeks about a potential theory that Senator Kamala Harris plans to be the first female president, and not from a conventional election. As Biden’s mental health is questioned due to a series of gaffes and mistakes in interviews and while giving speeches, pundits wonder if there is another motive by naming Harris his vice president running mate.

Monday, while on the campaign trail, Harris mistakenly touted their agenda and appealed to voters to choose the ‘Harris-Biden administration.’ But what could have been a mistake has been reiterated by the man who is supposed to be at the top of the ticket. As Biden appealed to veteran voters in Tampa, Florida, his mistake now seems like more of a reveal to what the White House will look like if he wins in November. Biden said, "It makes it so much harder for military spouses to find good jobs and build their careers. That has to change.

And then Biden continued, "A Harris-Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers to ensure teachers know how to support military children in their classrooms and to improve support for caregivers and survivors so much more than we do now."

Harris made a comment similar as she spoke on a virtual roundtable in Arizona with a group of small business owners. She said, "A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States.”

As the vice president, it would be a Biden-Harris administration. She quickly corrected her error, The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners."

Harris, who is one of the most left-leaning senators, has been trying to portray herself as a moderate. As she wanted to be president herself, she was forced to suspend her campaign because of poor fundraising numbers. Biden, who soared to the front of the pack after a primary win in South Carolina, has been criticized for campaigning mostly from his basement, and for making simple errors.

Why this matters: The comments from Biden and Harris are being looked at as more of a Freudian slip than a slip up. On the campaign trail, candidates are drilled over and over again, that mistaking 'Biden-Harris' for 'Harris-Biden' feels more like a reveal to campaign briefings than a genuine mistake. While voters had a chance to choose Harris in the primary, they clearly wanted a different candidate. The press on this won't help the Democratic ticket, as Americans wonder who will really be in charge if they vote for the two in November.
