According to the Insider Advantage poll that was released Thursday after the debate between the two candidates in Pennsylvania's Senate race, 47.5 percent of likely voters support Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz while only 44.8 percent back Pennsylvania lieutenant governor, John Fetterman.

Oz has a solid lead over Fetterman in the 18-39 and 40-64 age demographics, while Fetterman is mostly supported by voters over 65. Fetterman has also not been able to gain traction with independent voters as he only has 22.5 percent of independents saying they will vote for him in the polls while Oz has 65.9 percent of the independent vote.

The poll, which was conducted on Wednesday, was done the day after Oz and Fetterman met for a much-anticipated debate in Harrisburg. Fetterman initially wouldn't debate Oz and only gave in after pressure from national and local media sources. During the debate, Fetterman used closed-captioning for questions to assist him with an auditory processing disorder that he developed following a stroke in May.

Throughout the debate, Fetterman tripped over his words, contradicted himself, and stuttered while trying to respond to questions. The struggles were obvious to voters with just 20.5 percent believing that Fetterman won the debate wile a solid 53.6 percent thought Oz was victorious. Only 26 percent of people were undecided.

In polling released last week, Fetterman and Oz were locked in a dead heat with Oz pulling into the lead only after the debate that appears to have been devastating for Fetterman.

With the midterms less than 2 weeks away, Oz and several other Republican candidates in other races are slowly pulling ahead and are expected to retake the majority in the House and possibly the Senate.
