A new Covid variant means another unnecessary mandate from the Department of Justice and the Biden administration. The latest push for mandates had lawyers for the DOJ presenting an argument for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals requesting reinstatement of a mask mandate for air travel. The initial travel mask mandate was struck down by a federal judge last April.
After classified documents were found in Joe Biden’s former office at the Penn Biden Center, the Justice Department considered having FBI agents monitor the search for additional classified documents at Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware residence. In the end, however, the DOJ decided against it in order to not complicate the later stages of the investigation and also becuase Biden’s attorneys had quickly handed over the first set of documents and were cooperating with the investigation.
In another blow to the Biden administration, President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan was deemed unlawful by a Trump-appointed federal judge in Texas on Thursday. Judge Mark Pittman’s ruling aligned with Job Creators Network, a conservative advocacy group that sued the Biden administration on behalf of two student loan borrowers – one of whom was ineligible for the loan forgiveness plan and a second who did not qualify for the full $20,000 forgiveness. The basis for the lawsuit was that the Biden administration violated federal law by launching the program without allowing an opportunity for borrowers to provide public comment.
