The State Guard is an organization that has very limited power. That power is limited within the individual State.
The constitutional Militia is a recognized authority with the power "to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections, and repel Invasions." What we need is to revitalize the existing statutes that call for the organization, arming, and training of the constitutional Militia.
