Shocking Numbers: 30 % of California’s electricity imported from other states in 20211
8.5 % of California’s energy from last remaining nuclear plant1
33 % of California’s internal energy production that is renewable
<1 % of world’s solar panels made in US
67 % of world’s solar panels made in China
0 % of US CT scan iv contrast dye made in US
100 % of US CT scan iv contrast dye made in China
<1 % of global lithium mined and processed in US
5 US rank globally for known lithium reserves
1 lithium mines in US despite large deposits known elsewhere
1.4 % inflation when Pres. Trump left office
8.3 % inflation rate Sept 2022 (US Dept Labor)
$3.8T excess spending by Democrats under green Pres. Biden
1 recall elections California’s Gov Newsom has survived
On July 22, 2022 billionaire (and well known democrat supporter) Jeff Bezos tweeted in response to Biden ordering energy companies to lower the prices of gasoline: “Ouch. Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this. It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics.”

Even while importing 30% of their power from other states (outsourcing pollution), California politicians still planned to close their last remaining nuclear power plant until changing their mind recently due to harsh realities. Interesting how climate change activists remind us how global climate issues affect the entire globe and then support outsourcing pollution to other states/countries to make their state’s pollution balance sheet look better. How Newsom survived his recall is unknown. Perhaps if California is made to “walk the walk” and they experience the full effect of the energy crisis of Newsom’s making, he will be booted from office and someone with common sense can be hired for the job. Democrats are already discussing Newsom for President in 2024 so he can shackle the entire US with California’s problems.
Reckless green policies and spending have clearly created a disaster for America and the world. California leads the way by outsourcing its energy requirements (and the ensuing pollution from ‘dirty sources.’ Essential products for US energy policy, pollution reduction, and even health are made in China and other countries, largely due to lower labor costs and a desire to have other countries do the ‘dirty work’ of creating solar panels, lithium, radioactive contrast dye for CT scan machines, and many other examples. If the climate emergency is so dire, the US should be making a national security issue out of solar panels and lithium. China is our adversary militarily, economically, and socially. As Western Europe if finding out now, it is dangerous to rely on adversaries for essential products such as oil and natural gas. Out of control spending in the name of climate change is wreaking havoc on inflation and the economic well-being of the US and the world.
Radical problems call for radical solutions. To discourage hypocrisy, encourage responsible energy policies and spending for states and the US government, and most importantly, increase US national security:
- Cut off outside power supply to California. Make them build whatever power plants they need to supply their own people responsibly and then and only then they can convert MW from non-renewable sources to renewable sources.
- Cut off green federal funding/subsidies to any state that is not energy self-sufficient.
- Cut off green federal funding/subsidies to any state with gas prices more than 10% above the US national average.
- Mandate at least 90% of US lithium be mined and processed in the US
- Mandate at least 90% of US solar panels be completely manufactured in the US
- Mandate that 100% if IV contrast dye by manufactured in the US.
- Halt all federal green funds until inflation is below 3%.
After spending 3 years in 3rd world countries, it is obvious that it takes economic stability and prosperity to create a situation where a country’s government and citizens can make real steps towards more environmentally friendly energy production. When money is tight, people need to eat and keep a roof over their heads first. Pragmatic green solutions are elusive until that happens. For now the left and media live in a world of fantasy and lies.
