Joe Biden's DOJ prosecutors think they have enough evidence to bring obstruction charges against Donald Trump but according to The Wall Street Journal, "the path to an actual indictment is far from clear."

The group of prosecutors working on the classified records probe has not made a formal recommendation to Attorney General Merrick Garland as of yet. AG Garland would have final approval or rejection as to whether or not to bring charges.

Given that Trump is also being investigated for several other possible crimes, it is unlikely that the obstruction charges would be the only ones brought forth.

The possible obstruction charges stem from staffers moving boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago after a subpoena was issued to Trump in May, prior to the early August raid.

According to a report published by the Washington Post last week, a Trump employee admitted to the FBI that he moved boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago when Trump ordered him to after receiving a subpoena for classified documents in May.

According to the Washington Post, the "key witness" who moved the boxes is Walt Nauta, a Navy veteran who worked valet for Trump and was a personal staff member at Mar-a-Lago.

The Wallstreet Journal cited people associated with the investigation saying, "The aides, Walt Nauta and Will Russell, are witnesses in the Justice Department's investigation into the handling of presidential and classified records taken from the White House but aren't formally cooperating with the probe."

No charges are expected to be brought forth prior to the November elections and likely won't be issued until after the holiday season.
