The National Press is reversing its entry policy on vaccinations, effective September 1, 2022.
The club will “no longer require guests to show proof of vaccination upon entry,” read their public statement.
But, “for safety reasons the Club still recommends that guests be vaccinated (and wear masks if not vaccinated or immune-compromised)but we will no longer check the vaccination of each guest upon entry.”
“With a large percentage of the public now vaccinated, we have entered what may be a safer phase of the pandemic where people who get Covid are now far less likely to experience severe symptoms or illness,” was the club’s reasoning. “And there are therapeutics available to reduce symptoms. CDC has recently changed its guidance to deemphasize quarantines and social distancing. While Covid is still with us, the risks seem more manageable, so we have made this policy change,” read their announcement.
