While the Trump campaign has been pushing a law and order message for the past few weeks, they are shifting gears back to Trump’s most popular talking point: the economy. In a report from Fox news, Trump’s campaign will buy $10 million more ads that focus on what they say is the “defining issue” of 2020.

The Trump campaign official said the ads will focus on trump’s economic accomplishments during his first term, and will include a national cable ad along with local broadcast ads in eight early voting states. These states include new ads in Arizona and Pennsylvania, while adding on to their existing ads in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The Trump official believes that by focusing on the economy the Trump campaign will, “win the race.” The official said to Fox News, “We believe the economy, and who is best to handle the economy, is going to be the defining issue in this race. Voters know that President Trump built the world’s best economy once, and he’s already doing it a second time.”

The Trump campaign is also focused on job numbers under President Trump’s first term versus Joe Biden while serving as VP for President Obama.  The individual said, “When you look at just August, which was 1.4 million jobs, that is 2.5 times the number of jobs created in the entirety of the eight years that Joe Biden was vice president. And so people want to vote for a president who will reopen the economy and knows what he’s doing.”

Early voting begins in Arizona on October 7th, and in Pennsylvania on October 19th.  In an interview with Fox News, Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stephen said, This week’s advertising continues our strategic plan to follow the dates on the calendar, the states that are voting early, the data that always guides our decision-making and our pathway to 270.”

Joe Biden is also shifting his messaging to the economy, as he focuses on his manufacturing plan to bring high paying jobs back to the United States. In Michigan last weekend, Biden said Trump broke “just about every promise he’s ever made to the American worker.”
