Wednesday was wild on Capitol Hill. The secret impeachment hearings rolled on, a vote was taken in the House to perpetuate war in Syria, frontrunner Elizabeth Warren recovered after surviving the fourth debate, and Barack Obama, who notably hasn’t endorsed his former Vice President Joe Biden, chose to emerge from the shadows to endorse serial blackface-sporter Justin Trudeau.
The fourth debate held last night, hosted by CNN and the New York Times, didn’t make or break anyone. Stereotypes were confirmed: Biden as bumbling and out of touch, Warren as duplicitous, Bernie as a thinly-veiled communist. Don’t expect the top three standings to change anytime soon–Biden and Bernie will continue to slowly fade as Warren grows incrementally stronger, as borne out by this national poll released today: Warren 29, Biden 25, Sanders 13.
The only real potential for a shake-up now is the introduction of a newcomer. The three most likely: Michael Bloomberg, Hillary Clinton, and Michelle Obama.
Anti-Semites Endorse Jew
House “Squad” members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar confoundingly endorsed Jewish candidate Bernie Sanders. Apparently pro-socialism trumps anti-Semitism for the tiny caucus. It is surprising that they didn’t support Warren, a fellow woman who leans nearly as far to the left as the inconveniently elderly, white male Bernie Sanders.
Obama Seeks To Influence Canadian Election
Speaking of endorsements, it must be particularly galling for Biden to see his bromance partner of eight long years not only fail to endorse the his struggling campaign, but go out on a limb for a racist Canadian. In a tweet today, Obama had this to say:
“I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President,” Obama said. “He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term.”
Syria Vote, Turkey Note
Today the House voted overwhelmingly to maintain military presence in Syria. The New York Times characterized the 354-60 vote thusly: “Republicans and Democrats delivered a rebuke to the president over his decision to pull back American troops inside Syria, an order many viewed as acquiescing to Turkey’s incursion against a United States ally.”
The vote is a symbolic resolution, not in support of an actual bill.
A copy of the President’s no-nonsense October 9th warning to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was obtained and circulated today. It would be hard to imagine Erdogan not seeing the wisdom of restraint. The U.S. won’t fire on a NATO ally, but sanctions and tariffs can effectively ruin Turkey.
Blatantly Fake News, Left Uses Children As Props Again
Don’t rely on mass media to bring you an accurate picture of the situation. Already two outlets have been exposed as purveyors of fake Syria news. ABC was caught red-handed using Kentucky gun show footage purporting to be Turks firing on Kurds, and then a video of an allegedly dead baby, who, on closer inspection, is clearly alive.
Yet another example of using children as political props. We are not amused.
