A recent article in the Connecticut Mirror by Attorney Frank Hanley Santoro intimates that there is cause to deny Donald Trump access to 2024 ballots across the country because Section III of the Fourteenth Amendment states:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
I will leave it to legal scholars to debate whether this applies to President Trump.
But this is part of a continuous attempt to game our political and legal system to destroy President Trump for his real crime: Fighting for the powerless.
America’s Ruling Class – the ultrarich, the Ivy League educated, and those who ingratiate themselves with these two groups – have hi-jacked our political system over the past two generations and embarked on destroying the American middle class while making the poor hopelessly dependent on government handouts.
Trade agreements sent high-paying jobs overseas while illegal immigration depressed the wages of the remaining jobs. Court decisions such as those removing religion from public schools, legalizing abortion, and allowing pornography to proliferate destroyed the family structure of the poor and lower middle class. Avaricious investment banks such as Goldman Sachs enabled the super-rich to lose their shirt speculating only to get bailed out by the taxpayers and their grandchildren. Obamacare was revealed to be a huge scam that did nothing but enrich insurance companies while giving the working poor garbage insurance with high unaffordable deductibles. Minorities and poor rural whites were killed and maimed in unwinnable wars.
In 2020, COVID was used as an excuse to rig the political system so that mail-in ballots in swing states could be harvested by individuals paid by billionaires such as Mark Zuckerberg. This was technically legal as the courts allowed it to happen.
When Biden won in 2020, the ruling class informed us “The adults are back into the room.”
How did that work out? We replaced a president who gave us four years of peace and prosperity with a president who immediately botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan, was incapable of stopping North Korea from restarting its ballistic missile firing, allowed illegal immigrants to flood the country, initiated politics that caused inflation to skyrocket, permitted the bail outs of avaricious banks and promoted lax law enforcement causing crime to explode.
A “minor incursion” of Russia into Ukraine caused by Biden’s diplomatic ineptitude has resulted in over 1,000,000 casualties, millions of refugees and increased the chance of a nuclear holocaust. And there is no end in sight.
Considerable evidence is emerging that the President’s son, Hunter, received huge payouts from Russia, China and Ukraine in return for selling access to his father. The President himself may have received a portion of these pay offs.
Biden has responded by not only siccing our legal system on President Trump, but actually harassing the lawyers who are representing him. This is a new low in American politics. Lawyers are sworn to advocate for their clients. It is not a crime! Yet Rudy Guiliani was suspended from practicing law in New York state for representing President Trump.
It is not a coincidence that a COVID scare is being resurrected again as this will be an excuse to allow mail-in ballots again.
But the ruling class has a problem. Third Party candidates are threatening to derail this plan. Black-activist Cornel West is running for President on the Green Party Ticket (who siphoned enough votes in 2000 and 2016 to allow Republican victories) and former Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman is leading an effort to place a No-Labels Party centrist candidate such as Joe Manchin or Jon Huntsman on the ticket. Our ruling class is fighting like dogs to keep these candidates off the ballot in the swing states as polling shows both will siphon votes from Biden.
Perhaps they will succeed. But if they do not, early voting will create a huge advantage for the Republican candidate.
Third party candidates tend to poll well until a week or two before the election, when people realize they will be wasting their vote. But if these votes were cast two months before, our ruling class is going to have to figure out a way to change these votes. Perhaps they will.
When we allowed China to enter the World Trade Organization in 2000, the thinking of our ruling class was that China would learn how to become like us. What has really happened is our ruling class has learned to become like China.
