A batch of Javelin anti-tank missiles delivered to Ukraine as part of the Pentagon’s foreign military sales program don’t work. Multiple systems were tested today in a demonstration for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and none of the rocket engines fired in an embarrassment for the Ukrainian leader.

Ukrainian and U.S. officials crowed about the delivery in previous months.

“The Office of Military Cooperation of the US Embassy has received equipment worth more than $ 60 million to be handed over to Ukrainian partners, including walkie-talkies, ammunition and Javelin anti-tank missiles,” a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv said in June of this year, reported Voice of America.

The Ukrainian Embassy in the United States calls this delivery “the practical result of the first interstate defense purchases of weapons from Ukraine in the United States.”

“The first batch of missiles for the Javelin ATGM system, purchased by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine under the Pentagon’s International Military Sales program, has arrived in Ukraine. The contract for such a purchase was signed in December 2019, ”Ukrainian diplomats note.

Except they don’t work.

The Javelin anti-tank missile system, which was launched for the first time on the territory of Ukraine, did not work at the Shirokiy Lan range in the Nikolaev region during the United Efforts – 2020 exercise. This was announced by Major General Valery Zaluzhny, commander of the Sever operational command, Ukrinform reports .

“Javelin didn’t work, the rocket didn’t take off. Perhaps it’s an operator’s mistake, maybe something else, we need to figure it out, I can’t say for sure now,” Zaluzhny said.

Note that the progress of the launch was followed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who arrived on a working visit to the test site, reported local media.

“We need to study this issue. Maybe it was an operator error, or maybe some other error. Today I cannot say, “Zaluzhny said. According to the local newspaper news.pn, the military admitted that the American Javelin missile systems may be “expired.”

They were written off from the very beginning because of the expired shelf life. Lochs really thought that the Americans would sell them fresh Javelins?

In fact, the suckers knew everything very well back in the middle of 2018 – that the Javelins were overdue...reports sarcastic local media.

President Trump has made a big deal of delivering weapons to Ukraine, declaring his administration delivered, while the Obama Administration delivered blankets. It is too soon to tell who is behind this embarrassing development.

Was it done to make Trump look bad by Deep State elements in the Pentagon?

My comment can hardly worth even a false dime. But I’d like very much to see the President’s comment here – by action, finally, not by any tweet.

Heads need to roll – it’s needs to be a public naming, shaming, and firing with apologies to the Ukrainian government and a refresh delivery of all product at no cost. THESE ARE ALLIES. Treat them as such.

I would like to see the failed missiles be dissected, the failed parts examined, and Ukraine to receive an upgraded, worthy part, and the blame assessed. If this was an expected fail, heads should roll. It’s an embarrassment.
