An international conference entitled "The New Leaders of Europe", organized by Bulgaria’s main opposition party Vazrazhdane, held in Sofia last week, patriotic political leaders from around Europe signed a joint declaration calling for peace and end the Bureaucratic tyranny of Brussels.

The event was attended by chairpersons and delegates from ten European countries, including the host, Kostadin Kostadinov – chairman of Vazrazhdane (Bulgaria); Evangelos Tsiombanidis - chairman of AKKEL (Greece); Natalia Paraska - chairman of "Vazrazhdane" (Moldova); Ralf Dekker - representative of "Forum for Democracy" (Netherlands); Milan Uhrik - leader of "Movement Republic" (Slovakia) ); Goran Igić - representative of Zavetnitsi (Serbia); Janos Argielán - representative of Our Homeland (Hungary); Gustav Kasselstrand - leader of Alternative for Sweden; and Nicolas Rimoldi - leader of MASS-VOLL! (Switzerland).

The European leaders, who all share common values for the preservation of the national borders of their countries and of Europe and the preservation of national sovereignty signed a joint declaration, called the Sofia Declaration:

“Europe is in an existential crisis. The value foundations of European civilization are threatened and questioned by the aggression of globalist ideologies. Democracy and the right of peoples to self-determination are being replaced by the dictatorship of a bureaucracy unelected and accountable to no one. Economic security is threatened by the interests of international corporations and financial institutions. Freedom of speech is giving way to aggressive censorship. A war is being waged on the continent that could engulf our continent – for the third time in the last 100 years.

“The European Union, in its form, cannot provide an institutional response to these challenges. The agenda of those who claim to be its leaders is fundamentally different from the agenda of the majority of citizens. The crisis of confidence in this EU is reaching dangerous proportions that threaten the future of European civilization. Guided by our principles, we unite behind the following goals in the next mandate of the European Parliament:

“1. Europe must stop being an economic space dominated by the interests of international corporations and financial institutions. Our continent must be a political space of relations and connections between equal and sovereign states.

“2. The power of the unaccountable bureaucracy must be stopped. Democratic power rests with the citizens and they, not the Brussels bureaucrats, should decide how they want to live.

“3. The war in Europe must be stopped – through peace negotiations. European civilization is based on peace.

“Therefore, European countries must become an independent and strong factor in international politics. The upcoming European Parliament elections are taking place at a very important historical moment. If we don't say categorically now that it can't be like this anymore, we face the threat of losing our Europe. We, who stand with our signatures under this declaration, will not allow it!”

Good to hear. The experiment in Europe is coming to an end, and it can be said we tried it, and it wasn't a success. We've learned from our mistake. Now let's move and get back to reality.
