Now that Weenie Hut Junior Blinken has been replaced by a professional, things are happening.

Secretary of State Rubio did magnificently in his meeting with President Mulino of Panama. Panama has announced they will be ending their Belt and Road agreement with China. We’re on a good path - but a few more things are needed:

  • Full access and inspection of the two Chinese ports in Panama.
  • Full access and inspection of the Chinese led Airport expansion, Cruise terminal, and fourth bridge over the canal.
  • A complete list of all Chinese personnel at the ports and other facilities and their resumes. The U.S. is allowed full access to interview them.
  • Removal of WHO and WEF offices from any former U.S. Military installation.
  • Ensure U.S. firms compete for the new water reservoir project to ensure the Panama Canal can always pass 50 ships a day at 50 foot draft.
  • Ensure Panama receives full privileges as a trusted U.S. economic partner and special allowances for manufacturing zones for the U.S. Market.
  • The creation of a U.S. Department of State led “Panama Canal Treaty Inspection Group” to fully meet the U.S. obligations under the enduring Neutrality Treaty of the Canal. The facility could be at the old Howard Air Force Base and include a whole of government presence. They would ensure proper business and economic interaction with the Government of Panama and the ACP (Panama Canal Authority), ensure Panama receives priority import/export access to the U.S. Market, oversee U.S. backed loans for infrastructure projects in Panama, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief capabilities, and implement a routine inspection and oversight capability.

I’m not tired of winning and Secretary Rubio’s meeting was a great start and a return of the United States to the Americas.
