Maryland Democrats are proposing the biggest tax increase in State history. House bill 1515, will apply the Maryland sales-tax to almost every service that the public uses, effectively increasing the amount of sales tax you pay by 50%. Costing Marylander’s a projected $3 billion+ annually, this would be the largest tax increase in Maryland history.
If the bill is passed, you will be taxed on every haircut, every Uber ride, every car or home repair, every pet sitting, every delivery, and ironically even every time an accountant prepares your taxes. Not a day will pass that the Maryland Democrats are not taxing you for something.
The effect of this tax increase on individuals, families, and small businesses will be devastating.
The Heating for HB1515 will be in the House Ways and Means Committee on Monday, March 11th at 11 a.m. The deadline to sign up to deliver in person oral testimony, virtual oral testimony, and written testimony is today, Friday March 8th.

Tax increases are the rhetoric of failure. Maryland Democrats have failed miserably (again) and need more money to fix their screw ups just like Congress and the White House.
All of us know how this will end. We'll probably get another tax increase next year for the same reason(s).
Well, it is a Leftist state. I, for one, am hoping that this will lead to a mass exodus of businesses from Delaware. That would mean that the entrepreneurs and workforce will be gone and there will be no transactions to tax.
