Kosovo Prime Minister To Meet French President In Paris

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti will meet the President of France Emmanuel Macron this week in Paris.

Kurti’s office announced the news on Sunday during a meeting he held with the political advisor for the Balkans to the French President, Isabelle Dumont, the French ambassador to Kosovo, Marie-Christine Butel, the advisor to the Continental Europe Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, Guillaume Rousson, and the first advisor to the French embassy, ​​Cyprien François.

According to the statement, the Sunday meeting was held in preparation for Kurti’s visit to Paris.

“The topics discussed were political developments in Kosovo, the region and the world, good governance in Kosovo, European integration, as well as bilateral cooperation and the deepening of relations between Kosovo and France,” reads the statemented released by the Prime Minister’s office.

Kurti’s visit to Paris takes place after his first meeting with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, mediated by the European Union in Brussels.

In his April letter congratulating Kurti for his election as Prime Minister of Kosovo, Macron pointed out the importance of a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.

“Resolving the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is a major challenge that you have to face,” Macron wrote, adding that there has been “significant progress” in the dialogue that Kosovo has conducted with Belgrade, facilitated by the European Union.
