BREAKING UPDATE: Assad Likely Escaped Prior To This Shoot Down

UPDATE: Local media is reporting Bashar al-Assad likely escaped earlier on another aircraft from Latakia and was not on this flight.

Assad is likely in Moscow with his family.

The Ilyushin IL-76T allegedly carrying former Syrian dictator Bashas al-Assad has been shot down over Syria.

The Syrian 'rebels' have declared they downed the aircraft. This was likely done with the assistance of other powers, namely possibly the U.S., Turkey, or Israel.

The 3D flightradar24 data of SYR9218 indicates it crashed.
