UPDATE: Security bollards were suspiciously not working at the time of the attack due to being replaced for the upcoming Superbowl. The killer drove around a police car blocking the intersection.

UPDATE: NOLA reports the suspected terrorist is 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen. He worked for the U.S. Army Reserve, we are not sure what capacity. His resume says Computer Information Specialist, but we do not know if he was a soldier, contractor, or civilian employee.

The source said Jabbar was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck, and authorities have said he was dressed in military gear. -NOA 

A driver went around the barricade on Bourbon Street in New Orleans during New Year's celebrations and rammed dozens of people. There are at least 10 deaths, and over 35 injured. The terrorist was eventually killed by police after shooting into the crowd as well as killing with his vehicle.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell confirmed that the truck ramming attack on Bourbon Street was a "terrorist attack."

"First of all, the city of New Orleans was impacted by a terrorist attack. I've been in direct contact with the White House, Governor Landry, and the unified command here."   

Reports are coming in that the truck entered the United States from Mexico via Eagle Pass, TX two days ago. The driver also is reported to have not acted alone, and the FBI had information on the individual.

The Ford F-150 Lightning truck has a Texas license plate reading "LZ 1575." A flagpole hitch holder is visible with what appears to be a flag, although it seems covered. Additionally, there are four bullet holes in the rear cabin window of the truck.
