Kellyanne Conway, President Trump’s longtime Senior Counselor and who made history as the first female campaign manager for a victorious presidential run, announced she is leaving the White House, a decision that left political heads swirling. Simultaneously, her husband, George Conway, who is an outspoken anti-Trump Republican and co-founder and Attorney for the PAC The Lincoln Project, said he was stepping away from the organization. Both Conways said they made their decision due to family concerns.
Conway said the decision to leave her prestigious position was “completely my choice and my voice.” And “for now, and my beloved children, it will bless drama, and more mama.” Conway, who announced her departure the week of the Republican National Convention, will be gone from the White House by the end of the month. Her husband, who vocally critical of Trump, served as as interesting story on how someone so close to the president could be under the same roof as someone actively working against him. Many times Trump tweeted out his frustration with George Conway. But while it didn’t seem to affect their marriage, it did seem to affect their children. Conway said in a statement, “We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matter most: the kids. Our four children are tweens and “tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months.”
The Conway’s decision comes after a series of tweets from their 15-year-old daughter, Claudia. In a tweet, she wrote, “I’m officially pushing for emancipation. buckle up because this is probably going to be public, one way or another, unfortunately. welcome to my life.” The 15-year-old also tweeted, “i’m devastated that my mother is actually speaking at the RNC. like DEVASTATED beyond compare.” On TikTok, Claudia told her followers she’s in phase 1 of running away.
Earlier this week, Claudia is spoke about her mom’s job, writing "My mother’s job ruined my life to begin with. heartbreaking that she continues to go down that path after years of watching her children suffer. selfish. it’s all about money and fame, ladies and gentlemen.”
She also said that her and her father agree on nothing, except that they don’t like President Trump. She said that she has suffered from “child trauma and abuse."
