For two years, many still stuck in New York City unable to relocate to Florida, said things couldn’t get worse.
We’ve lived through the government's mismanagement of covid and interminable lockdowns. Businesses were forced to close - except big box and liquor stores (because “science”). Temples of worship, museums, restaurants, outdoor parks, gyms, Broadway, and schools were hermetically sealed.
We were mandated to wear masks (I won’t get into the utility). We were forced to space and give up intimate dinners and vacations. Medical needs were put on ice if they fell outside of the purview of covid. We were forced to take experimental “vaccines.”
Government mandated us to stay home, locked indoors, forgo sunlight and exercise (amidst a health pandemic when vitamin D and optimum health is vital). Even if we flouted the mandates and risked fines, there was nowhere to go - except a BLM riot (intentional?).
If we asked questions, we were called science deniers, killers, Trump supporters, alt-right, and nazis.
We watched incredulously, locked down at home, from our TVs Dr Fauci prevaricate when asked if rioters should stay home. BLM terrorists were encouraged by government to ravage already ravaged communities. In the height of the pandemic, de Blasio rolled up his sleeves alongside Rev Al Sharpton to vandalize / paint a BLM mural.
BLM destroyed over 480 stores in New York City. BLM’s civil unrest, including looting, arson, vandalism, and assault created over $2 billion dollars in riot damage making it the most expensive in insurance history. This amount fails to take into account all the other businesses that closed as a result of negatively impacted foot traffic due to fear, fired employees, and therapists needed to overcome the PTSD this terror and real estate racketeering group inflicted on already emotionally and financially fragile residents.
But the kicker; BLM was given a pass from masks, spacing, and headcount. Rules didn’t apply to “social justice” warriors.
This was the beginning of the end, when we knew we were being lied to and nothing added up.
But things got worse. Over the course of two years, schools were closed, then remote, then hybrid, then back to remote, then hybrid, and finally, in person with a totally new “education. ” CRT was fast tracked into schools on the heels of Floyd’s death. The already broken New York City education was now effectively finished.
Public school students cost taxpayers $28,000 annually per public school child, the highest in the country, yet PRE covid and CRT, these students were in the bottom half of the country for reading and math. Two years of seriously degraded face time in school should have meant a strong emphasis on core curriculum upon return to the classroom. But it was just the opposite. Groups like Polyanna, Inc and unvetted “Drs” pushed CRT (critical race theory), obsessively focusing on racism and sexually exploiting children, to parents’ horror.
Also during these two years, private school kids were treated to a different “science.” Mandated to vaccinate, boost, pledge to do regular pool testing, and run around like chickens with their heads cut off securing PCR tests that the government failed to secure enough of in order to return to in-person school.
All students in private and public were mandated to mask and space. There was no music, gym, art or cafeteria (“science”).
Toddlers in New York City are STILL mandated to mask.
Parents seethed about the new “education”; activism, racism, and gender shapeshifting.
Then came the next rocket from the Left; parents were labeled “domestic terrorists” after sitting back for two years and watching BLM terrorists and the government mainstream looting.
Here’s the part when we thought things couldn’t get worse in New York City and when we learned, oh yes, they can.
Just as parents are scrambling to secure baby formula amidst a nationwide shortage, it isn’t all hands on deck to immediately solve the crisis. The thought process from the Left is, what can we do to make parenting more challenging.
Incoming. The Left now glorifies all things unhealthy to our children. Obesity is marketed as “self love.” America spends $1.7 trillion dollars annually fighting obesity which afflicts 108 million Americans - yet encourages obesity. Go figure. Obesity puts millions at greater risk for life-threatening illnesses like cancer, heart disease, and covid - which we have spent two years fighting! And this is beyond parody;.heroin is now pitched as aspirational.
De Blasio’s parting gift was legalizing drug injection sites. Our new administration looks to up the ante. Unveiled is a new ad campaign just hitting the New York City subways. “Don’t be ashamed you are using, be empowered you are using safely.”
The only question remaining isn’t, “Can things get worse?” it’s, “Are they trying to kill us?
