House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said Monday he will begin the process to bring congressional contempt charges against FBI Director Christopher Wray even though he reviewed the subpoenaed document that alleges Joe Biden was involved in a bribery scheme.

"At the briefing, the FBI again refused to hand over the unclassified record to the custody of the House Oversight Committee," Comer said, according to Fox News Digital. "And we will now initiate contempt of Congress hearings this Thursday."

Comer had subpoenaed the FBI for a whistleblower form allegedly describing then-Vice President Joe Biden involved in a $5 million pay-to-play criminal scheme with a foreign national.

The FBI said Comer could review the document at its headquarters and later said he could physically view it on Capitol Hill.

Comer said the FBI is still not complying with his subpoena to turn over the document to the committee.

"Given the severity and complexity of the allegations contained within this record, Congress must investigate further," Comer stated. "The investigation is not dead. This is only the beginning."
