A new batch of secret filed related to the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in November 1963 was released on Thursday, but the Biden White House announced that they are going to continue to withhold the remaining 3% from the public due to national security reasons.

Everyone living in that era remembers where they were when they heard that President Kennedy was murdered. Walter Cronkite, the lead CBS anchorman, who was considered the most trusted man in America wept on national television. The country stopped and the world mourned, and will never forget the president’s son, the late John F. Kennedy, Jr., then a young boy saluting his Father’s horse-drawn casket and his widow, Jacqueline Kennedy, escorted by the president’s brothers, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Edward M. Kennedy.
A Warren Commission was established to investigate the assassination and concluded that the murder was carried out by Lee Harvey Oswald, a Marine sharpshooter with Russian ties, and carried out by Oswald alone. For decades, conspiracy theories ran rampant because the files have been sealed and not everyone believes the narrative.
When Bill Clinton was in office, citizens were curious and today, some of those records are archived at the Clinton Presidential Library.

In 2017, President Trump approved the release of 2800 pages of classified records. A second trove was released later in 2017. Some were to be delayed until 2021.
Journalists and historians combed through some of those released during Trump tenure.
One revealed that Democratic President Lyndon Johnson who served as Kennedy’s vice-president and succeeded him after the assassination, was a KKK member. The Ku Klux Klan was founded as the activist wing of the Democratic Party.
