The incursion began on Tuesday, with hundreds of soldiers and over two dozen armoured vehicles including tanks crossing from Ukraine into the western Kursk region, the Russian army said, reported AFP.
Russia said it launched air and artillery firepower to repel the attack, rushing reinforcements to the region to prevent Ukraine from making advances.
A massive Ukrainian attack on Russia’s Kursk Region began on August 6. As a result of shelling and drone attacks, five residents of the region were killed. According to the Russian Health Ministry, 24 people were injured, including six children, reported Russian state news media TASS.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that no breakthrough deep into Russian territory was allowed, the operation to destroy Ukrainian formations in the area of the state border continues. The Ukrainian losses during the fighting over the day amounted to 260 fighters and 50 armored vehicles, including tanks and anti-aircraft missile systems.

That incursion has no chance of success. It is merely another provocation. Russia won the war, it took the territories it declared in its plan. The only reason this conflict continues is that our corrupt USA has dumped about $200 billion there.
