    Durable Goods Orders Easily Beat Estimates In March

    U.S. durable goods blew away the estimates in March coming in with an increase of 2.7% vs 0.8% consensus.

    Ex-transportation was 0.4% increase vs 0.2% estimate.

    Ex-defense the number was an increase of 2.3% vs 0.1% estimate. Non-defense capital goods ex-aircraft showed a 1.3% increase vs 0.1% estimate.

    The Trump economy continues to defy the recession narrative.

    Initial jobless claims for the week were 230,000 vs 200k estimate.

    Continuing jobless claims were 1.655M vs 1.699 estimate.
