When CDM first heard that one of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s meetings with Egyptian President Sisi did not go too well, it was natural to ask why?
At that time, CDM was told Blinken was suggesting that Egypt open up the Rafah security gate with Gaza and let in a million Gazans and Egypt would allow a refugee tented camp be built for millions in the Sinai
It was reportedly rebuked by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi with some “salty words,” said the source.
Understandably, it seemed too insulting to be believed, but Egyptian sources claimed it was true. CDM could not get it verified by the State Department, but now, it seems plausible because of a October 13 policy document leaked by the Israeli Ministry of Intelligence.
Perhaps, this was leaked to win public opinion or to put more pressure on regional players to buy into this idea or resettlement of those living in Gaza.
Nevertheless, this document proposes three options for those living in Gaza. The first two options are reduced to those living in Gaza staying and the decision would be who rules them.
The third option is for those in Gaza to move first to Egypt and then onto other countries. In short, depopulate Palestinians from Gaza.
How this idea is to be sold is what makes this idea more revealing.
"Dedicated campaigns for Gaza residents themselves to motivate them to accept this plan - the messages should revolve around the loss of land, making it clear that there is no hope of returning to the territories Israel will soon occupy, whether or not that is true," reads the document.
"The image needs to be, “Allah made sure you lose this land because of Hamas’ leadership — there is no choice but to move to another place with the assistance of your Muslim brothers,” ends the document.
The option involves getting other countries involved - Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Greece, Spain, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, U.S., and Canada.
