Masoud Pezeshkian was elected in the Iranian presidential run-off with an historically low turnout, due to a boycott by the people of Iran. He is a self-declared reformer, but who has also declared the will of Supreme Ruler Khamenei is the law of the land.
Only nine percent of eligible voters participated in the run-off election.
The NCRI believes everything was set up for large-scale fraud and is why the boycott was so successful.
Previously, the Iranian Resistance had declared that it would welcome it if Khamenei, even through millions of fraudulent votes, were to allow Pezeshkian to assume the presidency. This rift and crack pave the way for an uprising and break the bonds that hold the regime together, declared a statement issued by the National Council of Resistance in Iran, the government in exile of the MEK, a rebel force which declares it is fighting for a free Iran.
Addressing the major summit of Iranians after the first round of the sham election, Mrs. Rajavi said that when Pezeshkian was asked about his agenda, he admitted that Khamenei is the one who sets all plans and policies, and that straying from them was his red line.
The Iranian Resistance emphasizes that if there is no deception and major fraud in play, and the buried saga of reforms in the regime has been revived, and if Pezeshkian is not melted in the velayat-e faqih, contrary to his own words, today Khamenei’s new president can be tested with a few clear and specific actions, as articulated in Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point Plan:
-Announce the cancellation of mandatory hijab and disband all patrols that suppress women.
-Release all political prisoners and open prisons to international fact-finding missions.
-Abolish the death penalty and all forms inhuman punishments, such as torture, flogging, limb amputation, and eye-gouging.
-Remove internet restrictions and censorship.
-Clear universities of the Velayat-e Faqih representatives and the Basij, IRGC, and Intelligence Ministry operatives.
-Disband the regime’s so-called revolutionary courts.
-Secure the rights of workers, laborers, employees, educators, and retirees with their own input.
-Decrease the prices of essential goods and public services, bread, electricity, gas, gasoline, medicine, and housing.
-Dissolve the Guardian Council.
-Renew parliamentary elections without requiring adherence to the velayat-e faqih, emphasizing free speech and assembly.
