President Trump held roundtable on border security in Arizona, where he highlighted the administration’s achievements, noting that a little over 200 miles of the border wall have been completed, and is "unclimbable."  A border wall was one of President Trump’s primary campaign promises in 2016, and he has often commented on how the construction has failed to be covered by the media.  President Trump said the border wall will be finished very soon, and made sure to highlight the Biden team advocates for open borders.

Along with the border wall, President Trump noted that illegal immigration is down 84%, which includes a 97% decrease from Central America.  Furthermore, 450,000 pounds of illegal drugs have been seized, asylum fraud has stopped, and catch and release has been terminated.

President Trump continued that “ground breaking agreements” with Mexico have been achieved, and he expects President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to come to Washington for a meeting in the near future.  He noted that the Mexican government is working with the United States through deploying 25,000 soldiers to the border.

With months left until the general election, President Trump is focused on the campaign trail in a key battleground state, and is making sure to touch on many of his supporters primary concern: national security.  He is scheduled to survey part of the border wall in Yuma, Arizona with Mexico before he holds a rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Before departing the White House, he told reporters he hopes to particularly reach out to young voters.
