    Time To Know The Constitution - Talbot County Of Maryland Celebrating The U.S. Constitution On September 17t

    The Constitution Alliance is hosting an inaugural celebration of Constitution Day on Saturday, September 17  from 11-2PM on the Talbot County Courthouse Lawn in the historical neighborhood of Easton, Maryland.

    The event will be co-hosted with Operation Frederick Douglass on the Hill and The Washington College Institute for Religion, Politics and Culture. 

    The Constitution Alliance, a project of The Constitution Alliance Fund sponsored by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation and Shore United Bank, is focusing on strengthening the Constitutional IQ of youth and citizens to better understand the blessings of freedom U.S. Founding Fathers secured. 

    The Constitution Alliance seeks to engage and educate the community to better understand their rights and obligations under the State and U.S. Constitutions.

    The public is invited to celebrate the day in 1787 when the U.S. government was born although it took additional months before the U.S. Constitution was ratified.  

    The purpose of the Constitution Day is educate the public about the U.S. Constitution, and learn how the founders crafted the Constitution and to discover how Frederick Douglass used the Constitution to enable freedom.  

    Frederick Douglass was born in Talbot County and his statute stands on the Talbot County Courthouse Lawn. 

    Free pocket constitutions will be offered 

    The event will include family-friendly activities, games, music, recurring speakers and educational exhibits.
