    The new Republican-led 118th U.S. House of Representatives convened to hold an election for Speaker on Tuesday and failed after three rounds for the first time in a century.

    The first ballot resulted in:

    Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) : 212;

    Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA):   203;

    Rep. Andrew Biggs (R-AZ):         10;

    Others:                                           9.

    Before the second Speaker’s ballot, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, whose sights have been focused as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, forcefully nominated Congressman Kevin McCarthy for Speaker.

    With that, Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was recognized and nominated Congressman Jim Jordan as Speaker.

    “Jim Jordan is not beholding to lobbyists and special interests,” and will address “term limits and balance the budget,” stated Gaetz as he continued to call for certain bills to fix the corruption in the House of Representatives.

    “Jim Jordan will engage in rigorous oversight,” continued Gaetz.

    The republican defectors in the first round who rejected McCarthy voted for Jordan during the second round.

    Coalescing around Jim Jordan, the vote fell short for McCarthy winning the Speakership.

    The second ballot resulted in:

    Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY): 212;

    Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA):  203;

    Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH):            19.

    After the second round, the republican defectors stated they will “hold fast.”

    But, going into round three, Congressman Steve Scalise (R-CA) passionately nominated McCarthy as Speaker.

    “Let’s rise to the challenge,” urged Scalise to vote for McCarthy.

    Pete Aguilar (D-CA) again nominated Jeffires for the third round.

    Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX) grabbed the attention of the House complaining about the direction of the House.

    “Americans are the losers,” said Roy. “This place has to change and the change comes from adopting rules” to change the institution.

    “Stop the swamp from running over the American people,” shouted Roy as he nominated Jim Jordan for Speaker.

    Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) flipped out in the hallway about the backroom deals, as reported in the New York Post.

    Greene told the NYPost that she learned that three members “were demanding positions for themselves, demanding gavel positions, demanding subcommittees, demanding for people to be taken off committees and people to be put on committees. Three, three Republicans out of our 222.”

    Greene was stripped of her committee posts when Nancy Pelosi was Speaker.

    During the third vote, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FLA) flipped his support from McCarthy to Jim Jordan increasing Jordan’s support to 20 votes.

    Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY): 212;

    Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA):  202;

    Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH):           20.

    The House stands adjourned until Wednesday at noon.
