Joe Biden is finally scheduled to visit the southern border next week in conjunction with an international meeting in Mexico City. While it’s not yet known what part of the border Biden will visit, it has been made abundantly clear that if not for a meeting in Mexico, Biden would probably never visit the open border his disastrous policies have created.
When asked by reporters to confirm his visit to the border, Biden answered, “That’s my intention, we’re working out the details now.”
Biden is traveling to Mexico City for a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The president has consistently distanced himself from the southern border crisis by not only avoiding visiting the border but also by offloading responsibility for the massive flood of illegal migrants onto Vice President Kamala Harris, who probably can’t even locate the border on a map. Biden has also handed off responsibility to the Cuban-born Homeland Security Chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, who is not only pro-migration but has also consistently turned a blind eye as illegal border crossers enter the country by the thousands daily – many from countries that sponsor terrorism.

Since Biden took office in January 2021, he and his administration have allowed approximately 3.5 million migrants to enter the country illegally across the southern border. That figure does not include more than a million “got-aways” that were not apprehended by the overworked, exhausted border patrol. The number of migrants entering the U.S. illegally is 14 times the number that were allowed to enter during former president Trump’s last year in office.
The massive spike in illegal migration has cut wages for millions of Americans and helped to drive rents out of reach for more than 100 million Americans.
It will be interesting to hear the rhetoric the White House puts out after Biden’s visit to justify why it took the president 2 years to visit the border and to explain the epic policy failures that have led to what is essentially an open border.
