The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a new component of the One app to allow Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to get a step ahead of the flood of illegal migrants crossing the Southern border. The app allows foreign nationals in Central and Northern Mexico to schedule appointments at the U.S.- Mexico border for release into the United States.
The scheduling feature of the app is designed to encourage foreign nationals in Mexico who are elderly, pregnant, disabled, homeless, mentally ill, or crime victims to schedule an appointment in advance with CBP agents at the border to determine if they are eligible for release into the U.S.
The app allows foreign nationals to submit their application for an appointment with CBP agents up to 14 days in advance. Once the appointment has been scheduled, the foreign nationals would then be allowed to arrive at 8 different Ports of Entry in California, Texas, or Arizona for their appointment.
According to the DHS announcement:
Through a series of questions, CBP One will guid users to provide a live facial photograph and submit advance information that an undocumented noncitizen would normally provide during their inspection at a port of entry. Additionally, users must attest when scheduling an appointment, that they, or a spouse or child accompanying them, meet specific vulnerability criteria for which they seek a humanitarian exception.
Following a noncitezen's arrival at a designated land port of entry for their scheduled appointment, a CBP officer will determine the appropriate processing disposition. Theese determinations will not be made prior to the in-person inspection, and the se of CBP One does not guarantee that an individual will be processed ona given date or time. Individuals can directly submit their information through this app themselves and do not require facilitation by a non-governmental organization.
Many see the addition of the scheduling feature as yet another expression of Biden's open border policy.
According to RJ Hauman with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the mobile app "is one of the most jaw-dropping examples of the Biden administration's eagerness to let everyone in under the veil of legitimacy."
Hauman added, "Instead of trying to stop an unprecedented flow of migrants, they're encouraging even more fraudulent asylum claims while finding innovative ways to process them en masse."
"If they wanted to actually end the crisis, the solution is simple: enforce our laws, don't create an app to make circumventing them even easier," Hauman concluded.
The DHS is already using a little-known parole program to release hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants en masse into the U.S. each month. The new app and scheduling feature bulks up the Biden administration's Catch and Release network at the U.S.-Mexico border, now allowing an additional 360,000 illegal border crossers to enter the U.S. by applying for humanitarian protection as part of the parole program.
Since February 2021, the Biden administration has released approximately 1.6 million illegal migrants into U.S. communities.
The border crisis is expected to continue this year, with an estimated 2.6 million illegal border crossers to be apprehended and released into the U.S. interior, not including an unknown number of known and unknown "got-aways."
With the addition of the scheduling feature to the new One app, the Biden administration has guaranteed another record-breaking year of illegal immigration at the already inundated southern border.
