Republican South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, 57, will launch his 2024 presidential exploratory committee on Wednesday when he is visiting Iowa.
The next day, he will land in New Hampshire and then return to South Carolina to meet with voters in Goose Creek before his Faith in America Summit in Charleston.
"I’ve been doing a lot of thinking the past few months. I’ve been thinking about my faith. I’ve been thinking about the future of our country. And I’ve been thinking about the Left’s plan to ruin America," Scott said.
"From all this and through self reflection and prayer, I’ve decided to make a major announcement tomorrow and I want to make sure you hear it first," he wrote to supporters.
An exploratory committee allows potential presidential candidates to raise money, cover travel costs and polling budgets, and in the end, can be transferred to an official presidential campaign.
The Post and Courier first reported on the committee announcement.
