Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) dropped out of the 2024 presidential race Sunday night.
"I love America more today than I did on May 22nd, but when I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate. I am suspending my campaign," Scott said on FOX News with host Trey Gowdy, a former U.S. Congressman from South Carolina.
Senator Scott embarked upon his presidential bid in May 2022 and was determined to be optimistic and put his faith on the line repeatedly.
He failed to rise above the single-digits and his fundraising efforts dwindled in recent weeks.
Senator Scott announced the suspension of his campaign just four days after the third Republican presidential debate.
"I think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they're telling me, Not now, Tim,” he added.
