While former South Carolina Governor and Trump’s former UN Ambassador Nicki Haley courts Wall Street support for her 2024 presidential campaign, and South Carolina’s U.S. Senator Tim Scott ends his 2024 presidential candidacy, former President Donald Trump continues to pick up support and endorsements across the Palmetto state.
The crowd at the South Carolina-Clemson college football game went wild when Trump arrived at the stadium on Saturday with chants of “We want Trump!”
Trump’s South Carolina political leadership team has expanded to more than 80 endorsements. He already has 250 grassroots leaders who endorsed him in June.
With Scott now out of the presidential primary, Trump just keeps adding more endorsements to his campaign.
“South Carolina saw its best years under President Trump and the McMaster-Evette Administration,” State Senate Banking and Insurance Committee Chairman Ronnie Cromer said in explaining his endorsement. “Tim Scott is a dear friend, and now that he is out of the race, I strongly urge South Carolina’s voters to join me in rallying behind President Trump.”
State House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bruce Bannister joined the Trump bandwagon.
“After supporting South Carolina’s own beloved Senator Tim Scott, I am excited today to wholeheartedly endorse President Trump as the best candidate to defeat Joe Biden in 2024,” Bannister said. “He is a proven leader who will turn around the economy, protect our border and make America energy independent once again.”
Trump’s South Carolina endorsement list includes Governor Henry McMaster, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, Lt. Governor Pamela Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson.
