Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Monday he is not dropping out of the race, after Politico reported that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump discussed seeking his endorsement at a meeting.
“Lots of rumors going around about my meeting this morning with President Trump,” Kennedy said in a post on X. “Our main topic was national unity, and I hope to meet with Democratic leaders about that as well. No, I am not dropping out of the race,” Kennedy posted.
Kennedy campaign insiders spoke on the condition of anonymity with CDM and said, “Bobby was always going to be in Milwaukee, but things changed on Saturday. He has been affected by assassinations. He wanted to reach out to the former president realizing what he had experienced on Saturday.”
When asked if Kennedy would accept a position in a Trump administration, the insider replied, “Depends if he wins or not, doesn’t it? Bobby is an effective wrecking-ball.”
