The late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died in a Russian penal colony, has a daughter who graduated from Stamford University.
She is now working for the Kamala Harris campaign.
Reports online indicate she is a field coordinator for volunteers in Pennsylvania, a critical swing state.
Russian social media lit up in criticism.
"Here it is – success! To serve the enemies of the Motherland!", wrote one post.
On February 23 of this year, US President Joe Biden met in San Francisco with Yulia and Daria Navalny. He expressed his condolences to them in connection with the death of Alexei Navalny*.
"The President expressed admiration for the extraordinary courage of Alexei Navalny and his legacy in the fight against corruption... He confirmed that his administration will announce major new sanctions against Russia tomorrow in response to Alexei's death," the White House said in a press release.
