Trump is correct. Birthright citizenship was never meant for the children of illegal aliens… The child of a foreign diplomat, who is in this country *legally*, doesn’t even get it. The 14th Amendment says: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, AND SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF, are citizens of the United States."
That second part is the key. It was never intended for illegal aliens to be able to cross our border at 7 months pregnant and create a US citizen with benefits for life. It also wasn’t meant for illegal immigrants to get pregnant while in the country illegally, as thousands in NYC shelters are purposefully doing right now, and create a US citizen as an “anchor”.
It was written in 1866, before our current, globally connected world. It needs to end.

anyway, "AND UNDER THE JURISDICTION THEREOF" is part of the sentence. no rational brain can contort trespassers as considering themselves under our jurisdiction, because they flouted our laws and customs to sneak here.
the wording was added with the Indians in mind, who did not consider themselves part of America (they were made citizens around 1930).

If one were to do their research they would find during the US Senate Debate of 1866 which established the guidelines to the 14th Amendment (passed in 1868) would clearly see if you were born of foreign parents on US soil you were not considered a citizen. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Trump can enforce this easily if he just educates himself on the Constitution.
If we cannot end birthright citizenship with the argument that children of illegal aliens are not "under our jurisdiction," we can,however, deport the parents Then give them a choice: take your child with you. or surrender you parental rights permanently, after which the child will be put up for adoption in the US..
The child can return to the US after turning 18, but the parents can only return on temporary tourist visas, or if they apply and and are accepted for citizenship.
