• Does America’s Government Deserve To Continue?

    I have a shocking revelation: Washington D.C. is corrupt and does not care what We the People think, do, or say. (I know this is not shocking, but it seems not enough are concerned yet)

    They have forgotten that we employ them and not the other way around. It is our own fault; we took our eyes off our employees and left them unsupervised.

    Now they are doing what governments have always done:

    1. Consolidating their own power.

    2. Ignoring the people unless we serve some purpose that helps them.

    3. Getting top-heavy and aggressive in pursuing evil schemes with the desire for greater control over the people they think they rule. (Hint: the people are in charge – not the government)

    4. Failing. At everything that matters.

    These facts reinforce that this government, OUR government, is so far off course and malevolent that it will never self-correct. Those in power do not want it to.

    Let me remind every bureaucrat inside the D.C. swamp that we are the boss, you the employee. We have every right to fire and remove you when you violate the Constitution. We are the keepers of the Constitution and can do whatever we feel we must to enforce the contract. If there is any confusion, know that the individual is at the pinnacle of power in America. Then the family, the community, the county, and on down to the lowest level of governance in America – the federal. You were never supposed to be this big or have such an impact on the lives of citizens.

    So, does our government does not deserve to continue? History demonstrates repeatedly that governments and royal courts are only fixed or “rebooted” by their own collapse. The difference between those governments and ours is that the crafters of the contract that we own made sure to highlight that we have the right to abolish our own government and start over.

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.     We are also the nation with the greatest chance of stemming the tide of history if governors and state legislatures would gain enough courage to flex their true strength under the tenth amendment.

    The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

    Today, we have the duty to be ready to pick up the pieces and return to founding principles when our government fails, falls, or both.

    Picture a tall building. Its foundations are rotting, its siding falling off, and its windows broken. We do not have to do anything to force it to collapse, for it will do that on its own. The years of neglect have a typical result. The only difference is that D.C. represents this tall building, and we will be blamed for everything bad that happens by their own hand. Desperate people who desire power, when they start to lose it, lash out at everything as they go down.

    Part of the message and plan of the leadership team of Restore Liberty is that we will hope for success at the ballot box and in policy, but we will not stop working when the establishment wins. We look to other possible outcomes and prepare for those.

    Therefore, we see ourselves providing essential leadership through four stages.

    a. The current situation. (Before)

    b. The moment of a possible collapse. (During)

    c. Dealing with the consequences of a possible collapse. (Through)

    d. Rebuilding a nation based on first principles using the Bible, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution/Bill of Rights. (After)

    To be clear. We pray daily that this nation can return to liberty and learn the brutal lessons of history without having to repeat them. That is the thing about history, its lessons are rarely learned the easy way.

    This is why Restore Liberty is different. We are not blind to the possibilities of what history teaches while hopeful for the future. One where the D.C. stench does not waft so far from its source and is largely irrelevant to our daily lives. The other critical measure of Restore Liberty is our faith in Jesus Christ and His power. We publicly proclaim that fact, beg for his forgiveness for ourselves and this nation, and will not fail to call Him LORD in front of anybody – no matter the cost.

    The great experiment that is the American Republic is also under global observation. In my work with veterans from many countries, I hear the constant refrain of concern as America focuses inward while the world burns. There is also the drumbeat of people and nations who know that if liberty fails in America, it fails everywhere. The light on the hill is dim, but not out yet. Have courage, have faith. Pray.

    I am reminded of the scene in Lord of the Rings when Gondor calls for aid against the forces of evil.

    Aragorn calls out, “The beacons of Minas Tirith! The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!”

    King Theoden replies with, “Gather the Rohirrim.”

    Gandalf the wizard sees the beacons and says, “Hope is kindled.”

    For God – For Family – For Country, let us reignite the American beacon of liberty through faith, courage, and the torch of truth.
