As the lawfare in New York against President Trump stumbles, Democrat operatives have a new case in hand.

An Arizona grand jury has indicted 18 allies of Donald Trump over the 2020 election — including former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Boris Epshteyn, Jenna Ellis and Christina Bobb.

The indictment, handed down on Wednesday, includes felony counts of conspiracy, fraud and forgery, and also names former President Donald Trump as an unindicted co-conspirator.

The charges include allegations of conspiracy, fraud and forgery.

“Defendants and unindicted coconspirators schemed to prevent the lawful transfer of the presidency to keep Unindicted Coconspirator 1 in office against the will of Arizona’s voters,” the 58-page indictment states.

The names of seven of the defendants, including Meadows, Giuliani and Epshteyn, were redacted, but the document clearly indicates who they are by the roles they had at the time.

Ken Chesebro, an attorney who helped devise Trump’s post-election strategy, is described as “unindicted coconspirator 4.” The other three unindicted co-conspirators are State Senator Kelly Townsend, former State Representative Mark Finchem, and former Arizona Republican lawyer Jack Wilenchik.

The only defendants whose names are visible in the version of the indictment released by the Arizona attorney general’s office are the 11 Republicans who posed as the state’s presidential electors.

They include: former Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward, State Senators Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern, and Arizona’s RNC Committeeman Tyler Bowyer.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, has been leading the charge on this aggressive investigation.  Mayes is the fifth prosecutor to bring criminal charges over the multi-state investigations of  Trump and his lawyers and their supporters.

Special Counsel Jack Smith has charged Trump with federal crimes. Prosecutors in Georgia have charged Trump and his legal team and supporters. Prosecutors in Michigan and Nevada have also charged Republican teams.

Michigan prosecutors revealed Wednesday that Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in their own investigation. Meadows, Giuliani, Eastman and Ellis were charged in the Georgia case. Ellis pleaded guilty in Georgia while Meadows, Giuliani and Eastman have pleaded not guilty.

Bobb was recently appointed to a senior position at the Republican National Committee where she is focusing on “election integrity.”

Mayes was elected as Arizona’s democratic Attorney General in 2022, replacing a republican.

She had subpoenaed several figures in Trump’s orbit which included, Republican US Congressmen Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs.  Neither Gosar nor Biggs were considered targets of the probe, and were not charged in the indictment.

"We conducted a thorough and professional investigation over the past 13 months into the fake electors scheme in our state," Mayes said in a video on Wednesday when she announced the charges. "I understand for some of you today didn’t come fast enough. And I know I’ll be criticized by others for conducting this investigation at all. But as I’ve stated before, and we’ll say here again, today, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined."
