The Associated Press called the race for Dan Cox, a state legislator, endorsed by Donald Trump, with over 64% of the votes counted. He had 56.4% of the vote, compared to 40.2%  for his closest rival, Kelly Schulz, a member of the outgoing administration of GOP Gov. Larry Hogan.

Cox has sought unsuccessfully to impeach Governor Larry Hogan  (R) for his pandemic policies, according to the wire service.

Cox will face the winner of the still-too-close-to-call Democratic primary, in liberal-leaning Maryland.

Top candidates in that race include former Labor Secretary and Democratic Party Chairman Tom Perez, bestselling author Wes Moore, and state Comptroller Peter Franchot.

Maryland law requires the state to wait until the Thursday following the election to begin counting mail-in ballots, meaning the final vote tallies may not become known for several days

One RINO down, so many more to go.

Larry Hogan didn't accomplish a goddam thing during his 8-yr. tenure in MD. How could he? The state with Baltimore in the lead was flushed down the toilet a long time ago. If it wasn't that close to the golden teat of Washington DC it'd be Puerto Rico. And Larry only became Gov thanks to two incredibly lucky breaks when running for the office. Like California write off Maryland in any hopes of rehabilitation and spend your time more productively in, say, Pennsylvania.
