The 2024 presidential cycle is nearly a month out from early voting and shakeups on all sides have been unhinged since Biden’s disastrous June 27 debate performance on CNN.
The latest shakeup is in the Trump campaign.
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is bringing back the former 2016 Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and some other Trump veterans.
Lewandowski, a Trump loyalist to his core, who loves the rough and tumble of hard-nose politics, is back in the throes to navigate the fleet.
The campaign also brought on another longtime ally, Taylor Budowich, as a senior adviser to the campaign. Budowich has been the head of the Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA, Inc. for the last two years.
“As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team,” Wiles and LaCivita said in a statement. “Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh are all veterans of prior Trump campaigns and their unmatched experience will help President Trump prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”
Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles have been co-chairing the 2024 Trump campaign.
Wiles, the daughter of NFL broadcast legend Pat Summerall, has been one of Trump’s longest-serving advisers.
LaCivita entered the Trump arena in November 2022. Longtime political operative LaCivita is known as the 2004 mastermind behind the negative “swift boat” ads against then democratic presidential candidate John Kerry’s Vietnam War record.
