On the eve of former President Trump’s arraignment in New York City on Tuesday, a major addition has been added to his legal team.
Trump has hired former federal prosecutor Toldd Blanche, who had represented Paul Manafort during Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation.
Trump’s legal defense also filed a motion Monday asking the court to ban video and photo coverage of the arraignment and raised the question whether Trump could receive a fair trial in Manhattan because NYC is where 87% of voters cast ballots against Trump in 2020.
It has been rumored that Trump’s lawyers are discussing a change of venue to Staten Island.
Alan Dershowitz has been hammering on news channels that there is no way Donald Trump can get a fair trial in the borough of Manhattan.
"The Corrupt D.A. has no case," Trump wrote. "What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a Fair Trial (it must be changed!)"
Trump’s indictment is still under seal until Tuesday. The exact charges remain unknown.
Former grand jury witnesses like former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, and attorney Bob Costello, who met with Cohen in 2018 who has gone public because Cohen gave him a complete waiver in writing have spoken to the media.
As a result, it is presumed that this case involves a 2016 $130,000 payment by Trump's then-personal attorney Michael Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels for an alleged sexual tryst that happened about 10 years earlier.
Trump supposedly later paid Cohen and recorded it as a legal expense.
Legal theorists have suggested the case may involve an alleged falsification of business records to hide a campaign finance violation.
Trump is expected to plead not guilty at the Tuesday arraignment.
The former president has labeled the case as a political witch hunt.
It should not be lost in the middle of this case in New York when the prosecutors are focusing on the payment to Stormy Daniels that Trump has been engulfed in legal disputes with Stormy Daniels that has resulted in Daniels losing a defamation case against Trump in 2022.
When Daniels lost on appeal, she vowed that she would not pay the $300,000 in legal fees to Trump as ordered by the court.

The court went back and forth on the legal fees, but the bottom line was that Daniels owed more than Trump.
And, now we have the unprecedented indictment of Donald Trump.
A lot of critical thinking needs to be given to what is an unprecedented moment in history.
