The FDA on Friday authorized Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine forchildren 5- to 11-years old, making it available to 28 million children in the U.S.
The Food and Drug Administration made the decision several days after its advisory committee voted 17-0, with one abstention, in favor of recommending the vaccine for children, according to NBC News. The committee concluded the benefits of the low-dose vaccination outweigh its risks.
