Since April Texas governor, Greg Abbot (R), and Arizona governor, Doug Ducey (R), has sent more than 19,400 illegal migrants to New York City and according to data published by CNN, more than 14,100 of the illegal border crossers remain in New York City's homeless shelters. An astounding 73% of migrants are not leaving the shelters they are placed in upon arriving in the city.

Now, democratic Mayor, Eric Adams, who supports the city's sanctuary status is declaring a state of emergency to help deal with the growing crisis and has said of the situation, "the city is going to run out of funding for other priorities" noting that taxpayers may end up with a $1 billion bill if border states don't stop busing migrants to New York. Adams went on to call the situation "unsustainable."

New York City is seeing a record-high number of people in its shelters with more than 62,500 in its facilities last week alone. The data shows that more than 2 out of 10 people in the shelters are from the busloads of illegal border crossers arriving weekly.

Adams acknowledged the toll the influx of migrants has had on the city saying, "Our shelter system is now operating near 100 percent capacity. And if these trends continue, we'll be over 100,000 in the year to come. That's far more than the system was ever designed to handle."

In response to the continuing arrival of illegal migrants from border states, Adams is considering chartering a cruise ship to house them while he is already building a tent city for the new arrivals on Randall's Island. Meanwhile, Republican-run border states and Floria continue to bus and fly migrants to Democrat-run "sanctuary cities" across the country.

And Mensa member Adams doesn't opine how small TX/Az/NM towns manage an influx on that level on a slow weekend...
