China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was part of the new "China Dream" Xi Jinping promised when he came into power. It was supposed to make Chinese companies a lot of money at the same time as helping other countries do big infrastructure projects with Chinese financing. Unfortunately, "made in China" quality can also be made overseas.
