The internet upstart Gab, which is threatening the entire big-tech ecosystem, just announced they are planning to launch a new Gab phone. The declaration caught the technology world by surprise, and comes at the exact moment Silicon Valley is tightening the screws on the American public, and the world for that matter.
Former Silicon Valley entrepreneur Andrew Torba left the big-tech arena in 2016 to start Gab, a competitor to Twitter. We discussed the most recent big-tech and Deep State assault on the free flow of information from his platform yesterday.
Torba has been kicked off every payment platform and even had his family's Visa cards revoked.

Is this a Linux based phone free of Google and it's apps? ... what are you using for a cellular carrier? ... Can you tie it into a National Cellular set up using the satellites Musk put into orbit and make it available to all citizens without interruption and paid for by our taxes? Will all non essential access permissions be forbidden on apps? Will it have GPS, Wifi, bluetooth, and short range WT capability? ...can you make it free of 5G?...am I asking for too much ?
What operating system? Linux I hope.
From what I read elsewhere it is a Pixel 4a with Grapheneos with some other things done to it.
But WHO will the underlying carrier gonna be? You got Verizon, Sprint, ATT, and numerous others piggybacking on the big 3. If the new GAB phone gets popular, they will collude with the corrupt politicians and just kick you off the cell phone airwaves. Sure GEB phone is great, but in the US, it will be running on one of the corrupt companies.

This is great, but does anyone ever wonder what browser is being used to document medical notes? Not necessarily in the hospital, but in the doctors office, physical therapy clinics, etc. My company is switching to a different medical documentation software. I HAVE to use Chrome, can't use any other browser. Chrome (Windows) or Safari (Apple). In the 7 years where computer documentation has been mandatory I have never had a company insist that I use Chrome. So I now have the POS on my computer. Wonder if they'll be mining data from patient charts. I'm sure it's all on the up and up.

...except that there is no reason anyone has had to choose between and Apple or Google device in the first place, since, together, they don't make nearly as many phones as all of the other phone manufacturers out there. Just because something runs on Android doesn't make it a "Google device." It makes it an Android device. The new Gab phone will run Android as well.
All cellular communications are TRACKED and RECORDED. Whatever phone and operating system you have on such is an irrelevant elephant. This is done on the server/ relay infrastructure. GAB phone will do nothing to prevent that unless they also own their own microwave towers and satellites and internet switching stations.

Gab would love to open up to investors, but liberal investors would find a way to sneak their way in to destroy Gab. Has to stay private. Gab needs to come up with exciting new products and services which we can buy or subscribe to. They have to innovate constantly like the old Google did over a decade ago. Donating to people who livestream is one way. Gab would take a small cut. It's the way of the future. Some people make money video gamers livestreaming for donations. Some people livestream to discuss politics, food, music, etc. It's growing fast.

I appreciate the fact that Gab is self-hosted. That solves one vulnerability. What will happen when Tier 1 ISPs start shutting off their access to the backbone? How will you reach the backbone on your own? How do you provide that piece of the puzzle on your own?

This is great news!!! I have had my current phone over two years and thought it was the best phone I ever had (Google Pixel 2). With how insane things are getting, I don't trust the Google connection. Please release this phone soon. I also plan to change my carrier, which is currently Verizon.
