Israel forces on Friday night entered Gaza for the third night in a row, but this time was different. The IDF stayed instead of retreating. The Israel Hamas war is now into its second phase preparing for IDF’s ground invasion.
Literally three weeks to the day of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack inside Israel on Saturday, Israeli officials have stated this conflict now has entered the next phase, the second war for Israel’s survival as a “War For Humanity.”
As the sky lit up Friday night with Israel rockets, the Gaza ground grew darker. Israel made its next move and locked out the internet and communications inside the Gaza Strip.
Gazans now cannot communicate with each other and the outside world. This escalating step has now created a near black-out among Gaza’s 2.3 million people.
Israeli intelligence is preparing for Hamas shifting to their backup systems and Israel is expected to move to their even more sophisticated methods of surveillance.
The Palestinian telecom provider, Paltel, said the bombardment caused “complete disruption” of internet, cellular and landline services. Some satellite phones continue to function. If some are not on a Palestinian service, but using an Israeli service, their phones may work, but Israel will be monitoring.
Paltel wrote on X that “the heavy bombardment of the last hour has caused the destruction of all remaining international tracks linking Gaza to the outside world,” according to a translation of the post. Internet tracking organization NetBlocks said Paltel was the last major telecom group operating in the Gaza Strip.
Gaza was thrown into dysfunction weeks ago after most of the electricity was cut off. Some hospitals now are running on generators, but running out of fuel. Israel is not allowing fuel into Gaza using the excuse that Hamas will steal it for use in their tunnels.
Doctors have been operating by candle light. Food and water supplies are in dire need. World Food Program has moved to food rationing.
Hundreds of thousands of Israeli troops are at the Gaza border ahead of the expected full-throttle ground offensive. When they finally invade, many of them will be fighting a tunnel guerrilla war and the risks will be high. Hamas no doubt has planned their response to a tunnel war for years.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health is claiming the numbers of death has climbed to 7,650 at the time of this publication.
During Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack more than 1,400 people were killed. Over 200 hostages were taken into Gaza.
Palestinian militants have fired thousands of rockets into Israel, including one that hit a residential building in Tel Aviv on Friday. Four were wounded.
The Israeli military has released the names of 310 soldiers killed during the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
The overall numbers of death in comparison to earlier conflicts between Israel and Hamas are higher this time.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Saturday Israel expects a long and difficult ground offensive into Gaza soon. It “will take a long time” to dismantle Hamas’ tunnel network to destroy “pockets of resistance.”
Israel is committed to crush Hamas’ rule in Gaza.
Repeatedly, Israel has stated it has no intention of ruling Gaza. Who will remains unknown.
