On Monday, President Joe Biden signed a joint resolution that ended the Covid-19 pandemic national emergency. The resolution will end some of the emergency authority that both the president and Congress had during the pandemic. However, the most powerful emergency authority allowed to the president during Covid was regarding the public health emergency and that portion of the national emergency response will end on May 11, which includes the Trump-era Title 42 restrictions for illegal migrants.

While Biden has consistently reduced the powers of Title 42 during his presidency, he has yet to address the probable flood of illegal migrants from Central America who are likely to rush the border once Title 42 has been lifted.

Border Patrol agents have been given little guidance on how to prepare for the expected influx of migrants when Title 42 ends on May 11, according to Zerohedge.

One border patrol agent told the DCNF, "There are thousands and thousands just waiting for Title 42 to end. I would say a fear is that the Biden admin has no clue just how bad it's going to get. We can barely actively patrol the border now. When Title 42 ends, all of our resources, all of our little manpower that we do have, are going to be focused on processing. Field work will nearly cease to exist in my opinion."

Another border patrol agent said that all they have been told regarding preparations for May 11 was just to "brace for fucking impact" and prepare to "weather the storm."

"Most of the time, we are just told that Title 42 will end eventually and to be mentally prepared for the influx of migrants when it does. Regular line agents don't seem to be offered an outline or plan as to how we will actually deal with the large numbers at the processing level," the second border patrol agent said.

Meanwhile, Rick Moran with PJMedia.com has written that Trump's border policies look better to Biden now that it is his responsibility to control the border and protect citizens.

"At this point, I can't tell the difference between Biden immigration policy and Trump immigration policy," an asylum officer said.

One of the reinstated policies that had been described by Democrats as "cruel" and "inhuman" is family detention at the border.

The asylum officers don't seem too pleased with Biden's Trumpesque border policies.

One asylum officer said, "It feels like Groundhog Day."

"With the Trump era, it felt like we had really gotten to rock bottom and when Biden took over, it seemed like a light ahead of us. It feels very disheartening," the agent added.

Moran summarized the situation by saying, "Asking Biden and the Democrats to apologize for all those nasty things they said about Trump and his policies is a waste of time. But they know the truth. They know that Trump chose the correct path to deal with a nearly impossible situation."

As for Biden and Mayorkas acknowledging the similarities between their reinstated policies and Trump's, that seems to be a lost cause, with both turning a blind eye, not only to the origins of their policies but in many cases to the crisis at the border itself.
